I just realized that Wednesday will be my six month anniversary of blogging. I can’t believe it has been so long.
I wanted to take a moment and thank you all for reading my blog so regularly. Every morning when I wake up and check my blog stats from the day before, I am both honored and extremely grateful to have so many wonderful people taking time out of their days to read what I have to say.
I am currently well into my fifth month of pregnancy, and I am starting to get tired — both emotionally and physically. Having Magoo’s set preschool schedule makes life a lot easier for me. I simply work much (much!) better when I have some type of externally enforced scheduled imposed on me. However, it is still exhausting.
Because of this, you may have noticed that I have been posting slightly less. That will probably stay that way until after the baby comes. I was starting to get stressed out trying to get quality posts sent out there five days a week. I worried people would stop reading if I started posting less. And then I realized that this was silly. Life has enough stressors — my blog shouldn’t be one of them.
And as such, I have lowered my expectation of myself. While I may still post five days a week some weeks, my new goal is three times a week. After all, I could add a couple of fluff posts to meet my self-imposed requirement, but I’d always prefer to choose quality over quantity.
That being said, I have big plans for the blog after the baby is born. Either next summer or next fall (depending on how exhausting raising three kids is,) I am hoping to expand this blog a lot. Since being pregnant, I have stopped sponsoring and accepting sponsors/swaps. Also, I have stopped networking as much with the larger blogging community. I’m planning on changing all of that once things calm down, and I’m really hoping this blog will take off at that point. So far, the reception is far greater than anything I would have anticipated, so I’m excited about this next leg of the journey. As with all good things, however, it will take time. And energy. And I just don’t have any extra of either of those right now.
And to end, I thought I would share some Instagrams from our weekend. On Saturday, we took the girls to a wine festival. None of us actually drank wine, but we had a great time looking around at all of the tables and eating yummy local food. We took the girls on their first trolley ride (HUGE success!) and also their first horse drawn carriage ride.
And then today, we went to our church picnic, and I have a few pictures from that.
I hope you all enjoy the pictures, and I hope you all enjoy your week. And thank you so much for reading my blog and for making it what it is. I am blessed to have all of you (those I know personally and those I don’t) in my life.
These are the pictures from the trolley ride. For whatever reason, Instagram won’t save all of my pictures to my photo album. When this happens, the only way I know to bring them over to this blog only allows me to share thumbnails. So you will see some of the pictures will be smaller than the others. Sadly, some of my favorites are the tiny ones.
While I have pictures of the girls petting the horse, I don’t have any of the actual carriage ride because all I could see was the horse’s behind. And I figured the world is full of enough horse’s asses that I surely don’t need to publish yet another one.
I was kinda bummed by the kid’s craft table. Usually those are pretty good. But all they had here were big coloring sheets for the kids. They had fun though which I guess is all that matters.
And finally a few pictures from the church picnic.
