A few of my favorite things
I walked into the living room to see Magoo dressed like a flower ballerina.
The Goose thinks she is finally in control of the television. Unfortunately for her, the batteries have been taken out. Fortunately for all of us, she doesn’t realize this.
Somehow I never realized that there really aren’t any drive thru’s in city. We were parched after walking a couple of miles in 95 degree weather, so we stopped off at the Oasis and got frozen lemonade. Magoo was in Heaven. All the Goose got was water — she was a bit disappointed.
I realized recently that I haven’t shared any of my favorite poetry with you. I figured I would start with this one because this was our “wedding poem.” Not that a wedding poem is really a thing. It’s just the poem we put on our programs along with a quote from “Song of the Open Road.”
Anyway, here you go. WB Yeat’s “Cloths of Heaven”
Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
Hopefully soon I will have video of the Goose performing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star for you. She’s starting to learn the hand motions, and she loves showing us “tika tika baba baba”
And that’s it. A few of my favorite things. I think I’m going to go to sleep now. I am exhausted. I hope your days was as fun filled as ours was!
